First Day in the Ocean

Wow.  What a perfect day.  The wind was 15-20 knots out of the North, the air was crisp and cool, the sun was shining as we rounded Sandy Hook point and headed South.  We are officially SOUTH BOUND!  We set our sails, killed the motor and we sailed....all day!  Surfing along downwind at 6.5 knots in utterly perfect conditions. Yeah, we are happy.  We like the motion of the Ocean.

Unfortunately, there's a gale warning for the next 36 hours so we ducked in to Hoffman's Marina at the Manasquan Inlet on the Jersey Shore where we will be for the next day or so.  That's right...we are on the Jersey Shore.  Tonight's agenda? Find Snookie and tuck in her shirt or pull her skirt down to a respectable length, depending on what she's wearing.

Pretty cool.  She's a beauty this one!

You see that?!  SOUTH BOUND!

Rasmus.  Sailing.  On the OCEAN.

Love,
Brittany (& Scott)

  1. Glad you guys had a great sail today! That damn Snookie gives us Jersey girls a bad name! Enjoy the nice, quiet, real Jersey shore!
