Annapolis - Sailor's Heaven

Can you see all those boats?!  All the white on the horizon are SAILS!
I once heard somewhere that Annapolis is "A drinking town with a sailing problem".  I would have to agree.  This place is awesome.  Totally our kind of town.  Everyone walking around in foulies, boat shoes on every foot, and an overall laid back, chill vibe.  And the boats...boats are EVERYWHERE.

It is the middle of November and you would think it's the middle of the summer over here!  We pulled into the harbor mouth and saw hundreds, literally hundreds of boats sailing around.  It looked like a freakin' traffic jam of sailboats.

Last night we had dinner ashore with our friends Jay and Nicole at Davis' Pub (a local fave we are told!) and had the BEST crab cake sandwiches ever.  Mmhhhhmm....my mouth is watering thinking about them.

We are going to stay here for a couple more days.

Leaving Swan Creek inlet...soooo calm.

Passing under the bridge just outside Annapolis.

Big sky.

Love,
Brittany (& Scott)

You should be able to take Rasmus over to Cantlers for some fresh off the dock seafood. It's one river north of Annapolis

It was my favorite local restaurant during my 4 years at Annapolis. Be sure to ask them about channel markers and depth at the dock before you go.

You two are making great progress! I was thinking the Lake Michigan to the NYC via the Erie Canal could be an entire summer long cruise for us, but now I'm thinking we should get further south. Keep up the good posts!

I've seen a few posts from other cruisers about Annapolis, and it does look like such a fantastic place for sailboat lovers. Your pictures are great... the bridge, the sky. Glad ya'll are enjoying it!

Go to Chick and Ruth's Delly on the main drag for breakfast. You won't regret it.

So many good places to go in Annapolis! For sushi...make sure you go to Joss on Main Street. Davis' definitely has the best crab pretzels too...worth going back for! I'm guessing you have found the Boatyard Bar & Grill as well...if not...you should check it out. City Dock Coffee is a great local coffee shop. Definitely Chick & Ruth's for breakfast (or other meals, but breakfast is best) like Brett said. Let us know if you need anything or have any questions while there. Ed is heading to Annapolis on Wednesday to grab a boat to take South. Will you guys still be there?

Yup, Annapolis rocks! I live on a powerboat here. It is such a friendly place. Make sure to check out Leeward Market and the 1/2 price (7 buck) crab cake at Carroll's Creek happy hour in the bar.

Just found your blog, and enjoying it.
